Description: Print Production Manager Print Production Manager needed immediately in North Jersey Print Facility! GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY OF POSITION: Has overall responsibility for monitoring, maintaining and purchasing inventory used in production. Evaluates and selects suppliers and negotiates pricing and ensures that all materials needed for production are obtained. Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of the duties and responsibilities of the position. Reports to the Vice President. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: Uses delegated authority and judgment to achieve the following on a consistent basis (should be handled independently, but Production Planner should seek input from Vice President as appropriate): ? Manages, oversees and tracks the purchasing process for inventory for production projects. ? Negotiates and monitors standard and nonstandard purchase agreements in accordance with established limitations, such as cost of goods or services, quality and quantity specifications, delivery schedules, etc. Also works to obtain the lowest possible price. ? Conducts vendor surveys and analyses results to determine probable sources and related details. Results have strong impact on which vendors are selected. ? Establishes outside vendor accounts in terms of pricing, scheduling etc. ? Authorizes and tracks outside vendor work orders and verifies outside purchases necessary to complete work. ? Uses knowledge of technical requirements and market conditions to negotiate best price while meeting all other specifications. ? Maintains current and detailed knowledge of programs and products currently and likely to be purchased. ? Recommends changes to and maintains tracking and reporting system for purchases; monitors agreements and resolves any problems or discusses issues with supervisor to reach resolution. ? Negotiates invoice or delivery discrepancies with the supplier, which may require dealing with executive level individuals. May refer these issues to a supervisor in special instances. ? Establishes and maintains constructive and effective relationships with vendor personnel. ? Serves as back up on trafficking duties. In that regard, responsible for the internal scheduling of work throughout the production facility and other duties of Production Coordinator. ? Provides guidance to managers on purchasing matters, as needed, and assists in ensuring that personnel involved in purchasing matters follow company policies, procedures and practices. ? May administer purchase agreements dealing with confidential and proprietary information; in doing so, incumbent must be extremely knowledgeable and observant of legal parameters and internal policies and procedures for handling such information. ? Ensures that Company policies and procedures are followed. DUTIES INCIDENT TO PERFORMANCE OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Receives job information and related materials from the client services department ? Questions any incomplete or confusing job requests, and requisitions additional materials as needed ? Advises management on matters concerning purchasing and inventory issues. ? Communicates with appropriate internal personnel to develop requirement specifications and attending components, such as quality, quantity and delivery. ? Responsible for arranging for the delivery of stock for production. ? Performs due diligence background check and detailed evaluation of financial and practical capabilities of possible suppliers. ? Prepares reports as necessary. ? Cooperates with auditors, as necessary. MISCELLANEOUS OR OTHER DUTIES: ? Participates in other assigned duties as designated by the Vice President. Education and Experience: ? Minimum BS/BA degree required or minimum 5 years experience in field. Knowledge/Skills ? Minimum 5 years experience in the relevant sector ? Knowledge of print manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques ? Knowledge of product and production testing processes ? Knowledge of machinery and equipment used in the production process ? Proven ability to work on multiple, simultaneous projects. ? Ability to read and interpret documents such as estimates, procedure manuals, to write routine reports and correspondence. ? Requires excellent telephone and interpersonal skills. ? Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
